Effortlessly Timeless, Rotary Jura

Here at Ernest Jones we are excited to announce the new Rotary Jura website that is now live to purchase the brand new range of striking Les Originales Jura range of watches from Rotary

This sophisticated and beautifully structured collection features skeleton dials, which expose the precision movement in either the full dial or part dial formats. On the reverse, all case backs are Sapphire glass which allows an uninterrupted view of the movement in motion.

The Jura watches are all automatic, meaning they do not need winding as the movement of the wrist provides kinetic energy to keep them powered and your watch ticking to perfect time.

Rotary have 117 years of dedicated watch manufacturing and a commitment to advancing technologies, which has resulted in a truly exceptional collection of entirely Swiss made timepieces. The range comes with Rotary’s Waterproof standard and Lifetime Guarantee to ensure reliability and longevity of each timepiece.

These watches truly are timeless, although extremely sophisticated and elegant they each have a contemporary feel, perfect for the modern man who is looking for a watch that can be transformed from day to night.

This two tone skeleton bracelet watch is the perfect example. With exposed workings this watch is the ideal way to combine traditional workmanship with the contemporary style of the two tone bracelet. Whether worn with a suit to the office or with casual jeans and a t-shirt, this watch is sure to make a statement, showing off the engineering technology aswell as exhibiting modern style.

This men’s skeleton dial black leather strap watch, shows us a small part of the exposed workings, with a smart black strap and blacked out dial and bezel. This watch is, again equally as modern as it is traditional. The leather strap adds a touch of sophistication whereas the blacked out dial and gold detailing adds a dramatic edge.

Santa please. . .

My name’s Amy and I’m a Christmasholic. The festive season is without a doubt my favourite time of year. I like to start things early, like in October, and unlike many people, my mother included, the presence of Christmas cards, decorations and the like in shops, does not frustrate me, it excites me. It excites me immensely.

I am greatly looking forward to decorating the Ernest Jones office, organising a Christmas jumper day, and there are whispers of a Christmas Onesie day on casual Friday, though I’m not sure how many takers I can rely on for that one. I’m even participating in a Twitter Secret Santa, combining my love for all things glitter and all things Twitter. Chris Rea ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ (enjoy!) has now been downloaded to the iPhone, and as it is now five weeks until the big day, Love Actually in all its syrupy yuletide sweetness has been viewed, twice.

However, there is one area of Operation Christmas, I am consistently never early with; the shopping part. It will come as no surprise that working in an online environment, all my shopping is done online, two days before last delivery dates elapse, and delivered to my parent’s house to save me lugging it all on the train. A panic gift wrapping exercise will then ensue on the living room floor, while my eight month old puppy bounds around and I furiously hunt the house for the last remaining scrap of sellotape. I did borrow some inspiration from Gavin and Stacey and used tinfoil one year, but then followed the traditional Christmas quarrel when it transpired we had none left for the turkey. I am in no hurry to repeat the Christmas Eve 2010 tinfoil supermarket dash any time soon. Thankfully Ernest Jones offers a gift box and gift wrapping solution which will be perfect for these diamond studs my sister currently has her eye on.

On the other hand, pinpointing gifts for myself comes naturally. And if we average it out across the year, my behaviour has been good enough to guarantee a spot on Santa’s nice list. So without further ado, on to my Christmas wishlist.

Top of the list, is a Project D London watch. Lauren and I were lucky enough to attend the launch of these exclusive watches in our Westfield store a couple of weeks ago, and it’s fair to say, I’ve been lusting after this ever since trying it on.

My go to jewellery box staple is always a statement ring and I’m always looking to add a new one to my collection. I’ve tried to pick a favourite but I just can’t. So as the song goes “five gold rings” I’ve picked one for each digit.  I love the shape yet simplicity of this chunky Gucci bamboo gold ring, the sophisticated winter green sparkle of this from Pessavento, and our Christmas cocktail ring is back again this year (and currently half price). Kelly Rowland famously wore three of these for last year’s X Factor final teamed with Amanda Wakeley cuffs, which brings me nicely on to Amanda Wakeley’s white ceramic and diamond Russian twist ring. Finally I’ve busied myself with our bespoke jewellery design again, to create this silver and ruby piece inspired by my niece.

In the non jewellery department, like all commuters for whom a kindle and smart phone is not enough, I NEED an iPad (don’t forget to download our iPad app for your own gift inspiration), but for now I'll make do with 'liberating' my step dad's. Ted Baker does a great line in Apple accessories and I’m a big fan of this Dippie brown and black leather case so that when he's not watching those famously festive John Wayne or Die Hard films, his iPad stays pristine.

Away from Ernest Jones, no Christmas would be complete without the traditional bestowing of socks and selection boxes. I am coveting these Pantherella fair isle socks at figleaves which I intend to team with a personalised Christmas jumper while munching on a mince pie with a twist. Hotel Chocolat’s alternative mince pies combine praline and my favourite, salted caramel, destined to satisfy my palette at the great expense of my waist line, which l will worry about in January when Christmas will be done and dusted, and I’m making new year’s resolutions not to leave my Christmas shopping to the last minute again.

Project D London launch

Project D London watches have officially landed at Ernest Jones and Amy and I were lucky enough to visit the Ernest Jones store at Westfield White City last Thursday, to witness the exclusive launch of our fabulous new brand.

After beating a ridiculous amount of traffic, we eventually arrived at Westfield. Our next challenge? Segue through the queue of Project D London’s loyal fans that greeted us. Some of them even brought gifts (sadly not for us) from flowers to a handmade book full of photos and messages for the ladies.

After taking some snaps of the fans and having a quick chat about their love for Project D London, we went inside the store and it’s safe to say, our cool and collected nature left us quite promptly as we had the chance to meet Tabitha and Dannii. After asking our glamorous PR Manager to introduce us, we met the ladies who were completely and utterly lovely and even had our photograph taken with them, while Amy resisted the urge to inform Dannii that she once went to a school disco aged 6 dressed like her – see perfectly cool and collected.

Once the press had done their bit, Tabs & Dannii were ready, the store team were ready and it was time to let the fans in and unveil these new and stylish timepieces. The watches are truly gorgeous and look every part of the Project D London family.

Of course Amy and I had to have a little try on of the watches for ourselves and I fell in love with the rose gold plated automatic watch straight away. Complete with a crystal bezel, mother of pearl face and skeleton detailing to show the internal movement and then perfectly finished with a polished rose gold bracelet (swoon). It is now sitting at the top of my Christmas wishlist to be ritually teamed to add glamour and sophistication to both my work wardrobe and party ensembles. My taste is quite clearly expensive as this is one of the higher priced models, but as you can see below, absolutely divine!

Amy opted for a black leather strap piece with striking black and diamante bezel, foregoing her usual penchant for all things rose gold and pearl. Priced at £525, it makes for an indulgent self treat and looked great deemed with her leopard print skater dress and Lady Gaga inspired nails for an edgy look this winter.

It was fantastic to see the amount of buzz and excitement surrounding the launch of Project D London from the fans to staff to Tabitha and Dannii themselves, who were extremely proud to show their newest achievement with each of them wearing one of the Project D London timepieces. They were quickly joined by Claire and Rachael, who popped down together to be some of the first to snap up a Project D London watch which they couldn’t wait to wear. Check them out adopting the trademark Project D London pose with Dannii and Tabs for a quick snap.

We’d like to offer a huge word of thanks to everyone who made the evening so memorable. To Dannii and Tabitha for their passion and enthusiasm, and the time they spent with the customers and with our store team afterwards. To our fantastic store team for the warm welcome they provided and the evident enthusiasm they showed towards everyone they greeted and to the new brand, and of course to all the fans, customers and our twitterarti who popped in to say hello, meet the girls and add a Project D London watch to their jewellery box.

From the word go we have been excited about the launch of Project D London, but after seeing the launch for myself and meeting the ladies behind it all, it’s made us all here at Ernest Jones HQ even more proud and excited to support and stock such a passionate and truly beautiful brand. Now all we have to do is convince them to design a line of cocktail rings for us, which would make Amy for one, a very happy girl.
